Day 1: Amsterdam
The first day of our journey to Cannes Film Festival started in Amsterdam. Gathering promotion material for our films like; Tree Film Production logo stickers, flyers and an authentic Dutch candy was one of our final things to do.
In the evening we had a meeting with Piet Brands, the mean character of the film Hendrik, who accidentally was in Amsterdam the same time as Tree Film Productions.
Tree Film Production asked him how he experienced playing Hendrik. Playing the role for a Dutch farmer who never left the province village was both easy and difficult. Piet grew up in a farming family, so this part of Hendrik came close to his own personality. But imagine never leaving a village was difficult, as he traveled a lot before moving to Prague.
Piet was very happy and exited to meet us in Amsterdam after hearing the film he participated is selected for Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner. He hopes this film will catch the eye of some potential buyers of TVchannels and producers. He thinks this is an opportunity for Tree Film Productions to move to a next level and takes its place in the movie business. He wishes TFP good luck.
We left Piet in Amsterdam to continue our journey to Lyon and our final destination, Cannes.
